Oceanography of the East Coast
with Kurt Schweighauser
If you’re considering buying property “down the shore,” this class will help you to understand what may happen some of the changes occurring to coastal areas. In many parts along the nation’s East Coast, rising seas are only a part of the threat driven by melting polar ice and the thermal expansion of warming water. The land is also sinking. This geologic two-step is happening rapidly enough to threaten infrastructure, farmland, and wetlands that tens of millions of people along the coast rely upon. This course will help answer the question: Is buying “down the shore” a wise investment?
